A spacious 4-bedroom house
The core feeling at Mariolo is one of spaciousness, both indoors and outdoors. The house has existed for well over 100 years and has the same footprint as it did over a century ago. It was refurbished in 2002 and the internal layout and distribution was modernised. It retains its feel of a traditional finca but with nice expansive modern touches.
The room layout of the house works very well. The kitchen, dining and sitting room is one large L-shaped space but of sufficient size to feel like separate areas. The large front doors from the main terrace open into this area, making catering for outdoor dinining especially easy. The kitchen is well equipped with a large Smeg cooker with massive oven and five burners - all except the grill is powered by gas. There is a plentiful supply of pots and pans, as well as all the normal kitchen machinery such as blender, microwave, toaster, and so on. The kitchen has a small table ideal for breakfast for 3 or 4 people.
The main indoor dining table seats 8 (and expands to seat 10). It is at one end of the living area with great views out onto the terrace and beyond.
The living area has two large sofas and a range of chairs. There is a flat-screen tv, video player, and hi-fi system. The house has up to 3Mb broadband and wi-fi throughout. A printer is available too. Mobile phone signals are mostly good here.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one slightly larger than the other, each with built-in wardrobes. There are two bathrooms alongside these bedrooms, both with shower and lavatory, and one has a double sink and bidet. Beds are king sized. All the downstairs rooms lead off a long hallway.
Upstairs is the master bedroom, with king sized bed, built in wardrobe, en-suite bathroom with bath, bidet, shower, double-sink and lavatory. Off the landing is also the fourth bedroom with twin beds and built in wardrobe.
Outside to the front of the house is a large south-facing terrace, with a Moroccan tiled dining table for 8 people, and a cocktail area overlooking the pool and the landscape. Surrounded by gardens this is a delightful aspect of Mariolo. Down the garden steps you arrive at the 12 metre long solar heated pool, with its solarium sun terrace. Here there is a outdoor shower as well. Behind the house is the car park, the casita (or shed) and the ping pong terrace, with more gardens.
